Our relaxation trip to Krabi, Thailand ~ Day 1 & 2

Air Asia was having RM 20 promotion somewhere in May 2011. And, guess what, the usual me, will not miss out any opportunity to grab this great deal. Therefore, waste no time, I managed to login and book us a trip to Krabi, which is also in conjuction with darling's birthday in March 2012. I decided to make this as a surprise birthday gift to him. Total spent for this booking is at RM 450.00 for 2 pax !!

Day 1 : Counting down to the days, and finally it reaches. On 28 Feb 2012, we departed to Krabi for a 4 days 3 nights relaxation trip :) ... Booked hotel from the Agoda.Com which I found that it does has better deal comparing if you direct booked through the hotel's website. So, after researching and getting informations from various blogs, I decided to book Areetara Resort. This resort is not in the centre of the Ao Nang town, but it is about 10 mins walk there, alternatively, you can easily get on the Tuk-Tuk to bring you to the town :) .. But, we were very happy with this resort as it is really far far away from the noise pollution from pubs and cafes, hence, we really had a great relaxation time.

Upon arrival, we quickly get ourselves to check-in to the hotel .. and guess what .. I booked a pool access room, which means, just slide open the sliding door, walked out to the balcony and you can just jump into the pool .. What a bliss ... :)

Once we have settled down, we went for a walk to the Ao Nang beach and town, as we started to hunt for food.

As we walked along the Ao Nang beach

Banana pancake (similar to our local roti pisang)

After having a short walk along the Ao Nang beach, we decided to get back to the hotel and what else, to SWIM !!

After spending some time enjoying the pool, and we were quite tired of walking out to the town to get us dinner, therefore, hb suggested that we will just have our dinner at the hotel's coffee house.

Day 2 : As we have signed up 2 days of land arrangement i.e island hopping. Yes, we gonna spent 2 days out at the sea :). Woke up at 7.30 am, as they mentioned that the hotel pick-up will be at about 8.30am, got ourselves ready, had breakfast prepared by the hotel at the coffee house and yeah, we were all ready to go :)

While waiting for the pick-up, I took the opportunity to snap pictures of the hotel's surrounding.

The friendly reception :)
By almost 8.45am, the pick-up 'truck' finally here, got ourselves on it and straight to the beach area. Waited for awhile, and there we go, to the speed boat and began of our adventure :). Our 1st day of island hopping will cover the Phi Phi Island tour i.e to Viking Cave, Pe Lai Thai Island, Maya Bay and of course, Phi Phi Island.

Hb and me on our way to the 1st island ... :)
Passes by one of the famous island ~ Chicken Island. Know why it is called Chicken Island, check out the picture below.

One of the activities that we enjoyed ... snokelling in open sea. The view was really breathtaking and it was so beautiful ... :)

And, our final island stop, Phi Phi island. We spent quite sometime in this island, where you can simply walk around the island, swimming, snokelling etc.

By 4pm, we left Phi Phi Island, to get back to Ao Nang beach. It was a great day and experience, although, we suffered severe sun burnt !! :p

Back in hotel, again, we jumped into the pool, swim for about 30 mins and got ready for dinner. What for dinner? Well, as mentioned earlier, I have surveyed and read from various blogs, and found that they did recommend a 'makan' place which serves good food at reasonable price. The restaurant is called Aree Ba Ba. If you are not sure where it is, just tell the Tuk-Tuk 'driver' that you want to get to Mcdonald. The restaurant is located right opposite the Mcdonald.

Food that we ordered for 2 pax ... the squid was yummy :)
After having such a fulfilling dinner, we decided to get a slow brisk walk back to hotel as we enjoyed through the night life around the Ao Nang town.
