Yeah ... Finally, I get to eat durian !!

Yes, you are right ! I am a real durian lover since I was a kid :) .. But according to my mom, I only learnt to eat durian when I am about 5 years old, as during my earlier age, apparently I will runaway whenever my grandpa bought durian home ... hahaha 


It is definately durian season now. Everywhere you go, you will be able to see durian seller selling durians, be it by the roadside, inside Jusco's market or even in Giant hypermarket. You can simply find it anywhere :)


But, I was really controlling myself earlier, although I was so eager to eat durian. All because I was coughing badly, really badly. Hb kept pressuring me to take my cough syrup (prescribed by Gynae) but I refused to! I was just afraid it will harm my little one. So, I rather "tahan" ... :)


Till today, I requested hb to buy durian for me, and he of course he said YES !! So, we went to the Giant, nearby our house and bought 2 packets of D-24 durian at  RM 25. Upon reached home, hb only took 2 pcs while me alone finished all of it ... ahhhhh ... it is such a bliss .. :)

Gap is having sales!! Everything is at 30% and with purchase of minimum 5 pcs, you will be entitle for additional 20% .. which is on average, you will be able to get about 45%.

Waste no time, since it is a Friday and I have 2 hrs lunch break, therefore, after 'makan', I immediately head towards Baby Gap, KLCC to check out anything that I could get for my little precious. Spent like almost 30 - 40 minutes in there, I managed to grab 4 rompers for little precious, and I combined the bill with the other friend and we managed to get the additional discount. Hence, on average, each of the romper cost about RM 32 per pc, which I felt it is a great buy (at least it is branded, right :p).

Say goodbye to 1st trimester, and yes, we are almost nearing half of the journey .. :) .. We are now almost Week 20 ...


Went to the gynae this morning for the 5th check-up (which supposed to be only due on this coming Wednesday, but ...  as I was down with flu and cough, hb kept pressuring me to see doc .. been dragging this since last Fri, as I hope that I will not need get medication and let it cure by itself. Well, I don't know, as eventhough doc assured that the medicine is safe for pregnancy consumption, I am still not comfortable, just worried that my little baby cant take it ... :p .. so, I hope that my flu and cough can recover soonest possible so that I can quickly stop the medication.


What about our 2nd trimester journey so far ?

• At our Week 16's check-up, my weight finally increased instead of dropping .. haha. During the ultrasound, doc managed to show us our little baby's spine, and he said, beautiful spine ... :) .. Baby's weight was good, of about 135gm, which is average size .. *phew* .. good to hear that, as I am pretty worried that baby will be too big at later stage and I might have difficulties in delivering. Lovely heartbeat, according to doc and everything is normal. Doc also took some of my blood for lab test, to test for mommy's blood count and also to test on baby's risk of Down syndrome. And, there it goes, see you in 4 weeks time :)

• One week later, the nurse called me and informed that the lab test's result is out and all is normal .. another great great relief !!

• My appetite is slowly coming back and I am beginning to enjoy my pregnancy. I am also beginning to feel the movement of my little baby :) .. Such a great and amazing feeling :) .. and of course, daddy is starting to feel jealous as he couldn't feel it as much yet.

• Went for our 5th check-up at about Week 19+, baby's weight has increased to about 303gm and doc said that baby looks well :). And, yes, we know our baby's gender already ... :) .. Hb asked doc about my weight, and doc said that my weight has not been increasing much, but no worries, as more importantly is that baby is growing well inside :) ... and, we shall see you again in 4 weeks time ... 

Will "Bird Nest" be our weekly consumption during this moment in time ?

Friends and relatives have been telling me to consider consuming bird nest as it is good for the little one. Chinese say, bird nest is "yun" .. and consuming it during pregnancy will also help in improving the immunity of the baby and of course, the mommy will be able to recover faster after giving birth. Apparently, it will also help the baby to have better skin condition :)


A friend of mine who was pregnant last year, according to her, she consumed it on weekly basis, and apparently her baby has good complexion. Even, my mom told me that her friend's grandson has pretty good skin complexion, pinky pinky in color, and her friend told her that the mother of the boy consumed bird nest frequently during her pregnancy. So, based on the few true stories that you have heard, will you believe this ?


As for me, as long as it doesn't harm the little one, and whether it is beneficial as proven by few true stories, if it is affordable, then I found no harm in trying it :)


So, this week, nearing Week 19, it will be our 1st bowl of bird nest :) ... I boiled a piece of the bird nest together with some rock sugar, and here is the boiled bird nest, ready to be eaten ... Hehe ... :)

Our 1st miracle ~ Moments of our 1st trimester

Guess I should jot down every single moment of the our 1st miracle as a special dedication to the little life that is accompanying me every single moment :)

Day 1 : Hb was super excited the moment the test kit shown positive result. He immediately drove out to buy more test kits to re-confirm. We actually tested 3 tests.

Day 2 : After work, I actually left office sharp sharp, took train and hb pick me up from the LRT station. And, immediately, drove to the gynae. We waited for almost 1 1/2 hr before we could see the gynae. Did 1st ultrasound and doc confirmed that I am pregnant :), but doc said that we would need to be back in 2 weeks time to confirm on the baby's heartbeat. P/S : Baby was about Week 5.

2 weeks later ....

We went to the gynae, and baby was at Week 7, waited anxiously for almost an hour, and finally, our turn :). And, thank God that doc confirmed that baby's heartbeat is normal ... and we will be seeing baby in 4 weeks time.

Another 4 weeks later ...

At Week 11,  our 3rd check-up and it was such a great moment when we could actually see our little baby moving inside .. how adorable that little baby showed us a very strong kick ... :) Hb screamed so excitedly and re-confirmed with doc " is the baby kicking? " .. haha ... Everything was normal and it was such an unforgettable moment ... xoxo ... P/S, I was sick during this time, having bad headache and flu .. :(

Well, my overall experiences throughout the 1st trimester, not much of appetite (in total I dropped 6kg), always very sleepy & tired. I was such a good girl that I didn't go out shopping / jalan-jalan at all, and hb was so surprised, but at the same time, he said it is good also, have more rest ... hahaha ...

But, I was grateful that I didn't have terrible vomiting moment ... Thank God again for this wonderful moment :)

Hubby and I went out to Sunway Pyramid yesterday for movie and as we were walking around the complex, Popular Bookstore was having some Book / Music Fair in the centre court over at the new wing. So, I told hubby that I would like to check out what they have.


In fact, hubby was stuck in one of the section, guess what .. he was stuck in the oldies corner, asking the promoter to play some of the music before deciding which to buy. While, for myself, I walked around and I saw this ... Maternity Melodies. Immediately, I took it and walked back to hubby and told him that I would like to get this :)

Well, I don't know how true / effective is this, but, from the pregnancy books / magazines that I have been reading, it did mentioned that it is good to play classical music while the baby is still in the belly. So, since week 15, I have been playing some classical music of Mozart and Beethoven to my little precious .. hopefully, it does benefit to the little baby who is still growing inside :)

Old time buddies meet up ... :)

We had a great and wonderful gathering somewhere mid of May, when one of my dearest buddy back in school came back to Malaysia for 2 weeks break. She went over to London during college time to further her studies and stayed back there for her career. 

And, yes, she hardly come back and I guess the last I see her was before my wedding .. so it is at least 4 years ago .. haha ..

Anyway, it was an awesome catch up as I picked her up from KLIA the evening she reached Malaysia, stayed a night with me before going back to our hometown, Taiping, next day. Tried to gather more of our old buddies, but quite a few went back to Taiping that weekend to celebrate Mother's Day.

After having dinner with her, next 'agenda' was to meet up with the others in The Bee's at Jaya One to 'yam-char'. All of us had a great night chit-chatting .. and hope to see you again, gal !!

Friends and relatives have been consistently asking us when are we going to have our little junior for many many years. And, everytime we were prompted with this question, we will just either smile or reply, soon soon :) ... Well, not because that we don't want any but we would like to enjoy life as two before we commit ourselves as a parents.

Finally, after the 4th year of our marriage, we decided to give a try and we were truly blessed with the precious gift from God. Thank God for the miracle.

And, our new bundle is expected to arrive somewhere around early Nov 2012 ... we are all so excited and can't wait for the special moment.
